Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd ACBRC, we would like to welcome you warmly to the Conference to be held in Nankai University, Tianjin, China, on the 24-27 of April, 2009.
Australia has outstanding records of medical research excellence, with a number of Nobel Prize Winners in history. China is a most rapidly developing country in medical research, with outstanding records in recent years including many basic biomedical studies. The two countries are in the same regions with great resources and potentials in medical research cooperation. Indeed, active collaborations have been occurring between the two countries at all levels.
The first ACBRC held in 2007 witnessed great interactions in medical research collaborations between Australia and China. Over 160 delegates attended the Conference with more than 80 scientists, researchers, educators, administrators and students from China. Thanks to the Hon. Governor of Victoria - Professor David de Kretser for his instrumental support and for agreeing to be the Patron of the Australia-China Biomedical Research Conference.
Thanks to Prof Peter Doherty, Nobel Laureate, and a long list of distinguished professors from Australia and China who have agreed to speak at the 2nd ACBRC. Thank you all for your contributions to the Conference, and through which, to medical research between the two countries, Australia and China.
We are honoured to organize such an exciting conference in Nankai University, China. As the organizer, we will be doing our best to ensure a most successful, enjoyable and fruitful conference for our colleagues, guests, friends and fellow students from Australia and China.
April is a beautiful season with a wonderful spring weather and comfortable in Tianjin that is China's third largest city half-hour ride from Beijing by fast train on the coastline of ocean Bohai Bay.
Wishing you all from Australia and other cities of China have a very pleasant stay in Tianjin, soaking in fresh information, collaborative contacts, most friendly atmospheres in the beautiful city Tianjin.
